About Us
Our Mission
The Verification Unit is a team of relentless volunteers from diverse backgrounds, united by one goal—to fight fraud and protect Ukraine.
What began as a mission to expose scammers impersonating Ukrainian soldiers and officials has uncovered a far deeper problem:
Every Scam Has Three Victims:
Ukraine—as stolen donations never reach those who need them.
The person targeted—deceived, manipulated, and often financially exploited.
Ukraine again—as trust in giving is destroyed, and people stop donating altogether.
We do not work for any platform or law enforcement, and we do not have special powers. What we do have is persistence, strategy, and a community that refuses to just let fraud thrive.
What Drives Us
Scams don’t run on a schedule, and neither do we. Our ability to operate around the clock comes down to one thing—dedicated volunteers who refuse to let scammers go unchallenged. Some of us bring expertise, others bring time, and together, we make it work.
(We also enjoy being annoying far too much to stop.)
What We Do
Investigate and verify suspicious profiles—no rushed accusations. Send us suspicious profiles
Educate and empower—so people can recognize scams before they fall for them. Learn all about impersonation/romance scams
Rely on our community—because awareness is our best weapon.
Beyond Investigating
We know that for many, discovering they’ve been deceived is overwhelming. While we can’t solve their problems, we can be there—and sometimes, that’s what people need. We provide:
Information to help them take action—including contacts for law enforcement and victim support organizations.
Clarity in confusion—helping them understand what happened and what to do next.
A reality check—because sometimes, the hardest part is accepting the truth.
I speak French, I use a lot of translation, but it's correct, thank you, I'll have a lot of fun, to find these escroc,
