Our mission involves the protection of individuals from falling victim to scams while actively pursuing and exposing those responsible for fraudulent activities. Our technology infrastructure plays a vital role in achieving these goals.

Position Overview:

As a Tech Support Specialist at the Verification Unit, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and guidance to our team members. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting with common IT-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring that our technology tools function smoothly. Your support ensures that our focus remains on our mission of combating online scams and cybercrime.

Key Responsibilities:

User Assistance:

  • Provide prompt and effective technical support to team members who encounter IT-related challenges.

  • Assist with resolving common issues related to software, hardware, and online platforms used by the organization.

Problem Solving:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported issues, including login problems, access issues, and software glitches.

  • Collaborate with team members to identify and address technical challenges.

User Training:

  • Offer basic training and guidance to team members on using technology tools.

  • Assist users in navigating and making the most of these platforms.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain user-friendly documentation, guides, and FAQs to help team members with common IT queries.

  • Ensure that procedures and solutions are well-documented and accessible.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and online collaboration tools.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Clear and effective communication skills to assist users with technical issues.

  • Ability to patiently guide users through technical challenges.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology tools and platforms.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring smooth technology operations.

Additional Information:

  • This position is volunteer-based, and no monetary compensation is provided.

  • Tech Support Specialists will primarily assist with common and straightforward IT issues faced by team members.

  • Training and resources will be provided to help Tech Support Specialists excel in their role.

  • Tech Support Specialists should be able to dedicate about 10-15 hours per week on average.
